These cabinets were in use from about 1900 until around 1920. The name on the cabinet is not that of the maker; it is the name of the company that contracted with building owners to maintain clean towels in public restrooms.
There is another one for sale in the area in Seattle by sizzle pops at seattlestyleblog. It is on eBay for $399, and is in top condition. You will find it by searching "seattle merchant towel company cabinet."
The one I am offering is dusty and dirty. There is likely damage to the original finish. It is, however, solid and intact with no obvious modifications.
